  I?ve had a serious love for waterfowl hunting ever since my father took me to a damned up part of Black Creek when I was 8 years old. Growing up we mostly hunted in swamps for wood ducks and the occasional mallard.  Then later in life I moved to, and started hunting, the coastal regions of North and South Carolina where the average bag contains mergansers and the occasional diver.  The thought of the ?KING? of all ducks? the Mallard? completely filling the skies with cackles and quacks was something of which I had only dreamed.   I guess the first time I had heard of Stuttgart, Arkansas referred to as being the duck hunting capital of the world was when I was in high school. As Ducks Unlimited got more and more prevalent in the 90?s, I attended more banquets and started receiving their magazine. During this time I started to read of this great place named Stuttgart. • Christmas weekend, Hunting, & a Stomach Virus

  First and foremost I would like to say that I hope you and yours had a very Merry Christmas!  We had a good one and it?s always good to get to see family and be able to give gifts to the special people in our lives.   The Recap I took Wednesday off and my friend Lee Mills came in to town on Tuesday evening.  We hung out and went deer hunting on Wednesday morning.  Lee is a nurse and works odd hours and, because of this, he has developed odd sleeping hours/habits and can sleep or wake at any time.  Needless to say, at 5:30 he came in my room with a bright light on my face and a video camera conducting an interview.  I knew he was up to something as he was giggling as he was talking.  I regained my vision and started getting up once I realized that I wasn?t seeing a bright light because I had just died and was on my way out.  I guess everybody?s got a friend like that... ...

• Poulos Sportsman Club Turkey Hunt

  As we marched up the old road bed, the anticipation of the morning hunt filled the air.  Brad Crawford spotted a couple longbeards strutting in the meadow the evening before.  With that being said we had a good idea of where the birds were roosting.  We planned on getting up on the ridge above the meadow for the morning hunt.  Brad led the way up the road bed.  Sam Poulos and Tank Johnson both armed and ready followed behind.  I was pulling up the rear armed with my video camera.  Brad called out an owl hoot with a dead on response from the longbeards.  We sat up on the ridge and got ready for the action.  As Brad sent out a series of yelps there must have been four more birds gobbling off in the distance.  It seemed that we were in prime position.  With another series of calls it seemed that the gobbles echoed a little louder.  Back and forth we went when all of a sudden a soft yelp from a hen could be heard in ...
